Pink October is the annual international breast cancer awareness campaign, running throughout October and symbolized by the pink ribbon. The campaign promotes education, encourages early screening, and supports research to help save lives.
What Was Done Last Year (2024)
Last October, the FLBB mobilized all menโs and womenโs first division teams of the Enovos Leagueโalong with refereesโto wear pink laces at matches to demonstrate solidarity. Referees also had the option of using pink whistles and lanyards. FLBB partnered with Think Pink Lux and Europa Donna Luxembourg to support direct donations during selected matches. Several awareness events were held, and a video summary was produced to highlight community involvement and the impact of these actions.

Whatโs Planned So Far for 2025
For this year, the FLBB is again providing 15 pairs of pink laces per team for all menโs and womenโs first and second division club. Referees can contact Dan for laces pickup – the federation has provided us with a lot.

Pink whistles are available for referees to purchase in the ADABL shop:

We invite all participants to wear their pink lacesโand whistles if desiredโat October matches to show strong collective support. Further details to follow as the month unfolds.
Of course, youโre also welcome to reuse last yearโs pink laces and whistles if you have them.
Thank you for your ongoing engagement and dedication to Pink October!
